Bars, billets, tubes and pipes are used in many industries: as construction elements for mechanical engineering, as pipelines in the oil and gas industry or as static elements within the construction industry. In order to ensure the safety of the construction, even minimal inaccuracies in the material must be detected during the production process. All familiar territory for ROSEN: Our inspection systems detect volumetric defects, cracks and material properties such as hard spots in plates and bars, defects in outer and inner diameters of tubes as well as defects in welds and heat affected zones. ROSEN offers non-destructive testing solutions for semi-finished and primary products as part of a holistic service package from consulting, manufacturing and on-site installation to modernization and revamping, to support plate mills, bar, pipe and tube manufacturers in finding even the smallest features to guarantee safety and the highest quality, beyond compliance.


Bars and billets are critical components in many areas of infrastructure and transportation and must be flawless. Our LOCIS inspection system for longitudinal conveyed products offers a phased array solution for non-destructive volume testing of steel, titanium alloy and non-ferrous bars and billets. The system does not require any moving, rotating components and can be set up for new diameters and different test depths in just a few minutes thanks to pre-installed, stored test data sets.

Steel products, such as heavy plates and thick plates, must meet a number of requirements, as they have to withstand high loads in their area of application. Our PLAMAT plate inspection and testing systems use testing methods such as ultrasound, phased array ultrasound or eddy current to ensure that semi-finished products are flawless and of the highest quality.

SCAN-P provides a solution for the automated ultrasound (UT) inspection of tubes and bars in the partial immersion technique.
The SCAN-G product family is our modular approach to inspection systems with gantries. Typically, the material to be inspected is placed on an inspection table or roller conveyor while one or more inspection carriages scan the material to be inspected.
